water madness took place today. 13 kids from lee kong chuan gardens school, under MINDS, came down to the acjc swimming pool to be cared for and spoiled by 25 plus big kors kors and jies jies.

the kids were early. they came , did some stretching, went into the pool, were supposed to play polo, ended being contented with just playing w the water. we brought out the float and the kids took to the floats, some of the helpers had the kid in them brought out and also played on the floats. haha. these kids are special and it was a little difficult understanding them at times. but i guess, we got along well with them. some of the helpers were so accomodating tt one of the kids was nicknamed 'lil emperor' coz he bossed his caregiver arnd so much.

this was a collaboration between the swimming team and the lifeguards. and theere were by far way way more swimmers than lifeguards. but i've to say tt although it was tiring, we all had fun and it was a most meaninngful and fufilling experience. it's my first time working with these special kids, but what they make me feel is being special for i am certainly blessed to be who i am today, able and well capable of taking care of myself. i'm just so blessed.

i've to take my hats off to these kids. most of them showed no fear in taking to playing with us. they could overcome the initial shyness tt most of us normally have when dealing w strangers. of course there were a few reticent ones, but in the end, they did warm up to it. they warmed the day with their vivacious and heartwarming smiles, feeling in us tt urge to hug them and embrace them. they're so cute so adorable, so special.

i think this whole morning was certainly an experience i can build on. for those who were there, they could see tt after a certain phone call from my special one, i was smiling extra , extra, megawatting away! manz! :):):)
i'm feeling tired now from the morning's exertions but i'm justhappy tt i helped to make today a most enjoyable day for the kids.

many many thanks to manuel seet, mandy's brother. he was really wonderful in helping to blow up 20 plus balloons and bending them into animal shapes. he did it all in one morning and also many many thanks to uncle, mandy's dad, for coming down with the balloons, delivering them in his car. THANK YOU SO MUCH! i'm so glad i had this extra help.

one thing about the balloons: some of them had short life spans. they burst as the kids got onto the bus to go back, so some 3 of them didn't have any more balloons by the time they boarded the bus.
