Animal Farm is a story that so cartoonishly portrays the system of communism in it's real form.

i finished the book some 3 days ago. as i read the book, there was this gradual anger in me tt kept growing n growing. my anger's directed towards squealer, the right hand man of the 'great leader', Napolean. the animals on the farm are unhappy w e way they're treated n want to chase away their farmer. they succeed in overthrowing him and have control of the farm for themselves. so tt's how it is at first, self-governance. however, as w every society, there are the smarter ones and the slower ones. so quite naturally, the smarter animals make most of the decisions, w the slower n less intelligent animals going along. in this case, it's the pigs and boars.. napolean and squealer r boars. as the story progresses, u can see how they grasp control of the farm and make others work for them. eventually, the pigs end up as the top of the chain, with the rest of the animals working for them.

my anger at squealer is due to the fact tt he can fabric n spread such malicious lies, by changing the truth so adversely n using long winded n persuasive arguement to get others to think the way he wants them to. he's the PR guy in the story, a bad one at tt. it is all the untruths n lies tt he spreads tt gets me so frustrated. i wish i could get into the story, and really, make him roasted boar for my dinner.

but what it has succeeded in doing, is what George Orwell intended to be. the curse of the communist system. everybody is equal, except for a select class. while the deomocratic system is by no means perfect( it has plenty of flaws as we all know), the communist system is so disgusting in the way it manipulates the people and exploits them.

if george orwell were to use humans to portray his story, he would have been criticised for slandering and stereotyping. people of the world are divided by race religion n nationality. so using certain names would definitely offend some people, like it or not. the use of animals is just smart. we humans see animals as the same, the thai horse and the american horse are horses all the same: four legged.. n so on. so by using animals in this portrayal of a tragic communist-tainted society, it goes to show how communism can affect the whole world. communism can get in everywhere, and if we do allow it to, the consequences will be so devastating.

it has been a pleasure reading the animal farm, but i'm still very angry at squealer.. feel like strangling him till he squeals..
