yesh, i did it!

i'm in both finals for the 100 and 200.
it feels just great. that's the reason y i joined swimming, to get into the finals and get points for acjc. i've put myself in that position and it will all materialise next week.

for today's events, it was so close. i qualified as the 8th swimmer, the last of the finalists. i did a 1min 18 seconds, a personal best. this is just so good so good, and with the finals being the finals, i can even hope to cut down this time by up to two seconds, there are some aspects to the swim that i must alter, such as pacing and all. the rj guy next to me, 'my swimming partner' for both heats, is quite good. today as like yesterday, i reached out to shake hands with him after the swim. alright, he did, but only lightly, not the firm kind i expected. well, i know better don't i? it was good swimming next to him because he gave me the urgency to pick up the pace and stay as close to him as possible. no hopes of beating him, but hopes of keeping that close to him.

i feel swimming, like any other sport, should have its friendly moments. the friendship and friends u pick up with the sport should be ultimately that important as well. but for schools competition, esp the ac rj rivalry, it is difficult to explain the animosity at all..

onto a weekend of work and rest..
