yesterday night was well-spent... and worth it too. for a price of a weekend movie ticket, with a $2 top-up, i got to eat, drink and enjoy the finals of the euro finals with my classmates.

i had an arrangement with rehan and siwei to meet up. rehan was late, and siwei was just fuming mad. he was very generous with his expletives, in which all kinds of threats towards rehan were uttered. then, rehan came in a cab, and we all trooped off to kallang to meet the others. on the cab ride there, siwei exacted his words on rehan, just telling him off, the f word could not have been mentioned any more frequently. well, rehan did have a hilarious story to share with us.... it's really cute how siblings can overcome all age barriers and act so childishly at times.

the makan was really solid. it was a feast. imagine, a hawker centre, where the tables are standard, we ordered so much from the zi cha stall that our entire table was filled up with the plates. we had the works; the steamed fish, the ku lu yok, the venison meat, the herbal chicken, the kang kong, the tofu, the egg omelette with plenty of oysters, the sting ray... man, it was really really good. we were all stuffed and all, and were deciding on our next destination.... of course, furious discussion ensued (it's always the case with sg4, they talk so much and are so animated, and seldom get it done, but at times, the plans do get carried out, as i am to find out)and we also waited for john and rachel to finish their cha kway teow.

i had a bottle of barcadi lime, which tasted more like lime juice, no real kick, shared a bit of it with wesley. a bit of alcohol does help at times. i know siwei enjoyed his thirty three..

then, i found myself at someplace. those clowns, for all their discussion and heated and animated motions, had decided to pay a visit to a schoolmates house. i was of course discouraging them and telling them that we'll be better off some other place. of course, how am i to match up against the rest.. they're all so... i'd say, persuasive.

we were outside yaqi's house, they called her up. passed the buck arnd they say, so jason got the ball rolling and they started chatting her up. i had this hulk of a rehan grabbing me and making me stand outside her gate. aiyoh, did u have to? anyway, i got my turn to the phone and made some apologies. havoc man this class, i hope u'll be able to settle down to study now that u've done ur bit in helping me advance my social life.
all the talk about red table and what not.. gosh, amazing, the power of imagination.

it's the wrong tree you all are barking up to.. i keep telling you. some of u made some calls, trying to discover the identity of the right tree.... costly phone bills, moments of exasperation... haiz, interesting how u all take such a personal and vested interest in my life... i'll invite u to my wedding ( if there is one) no matter who and what.

final stop: siwei's place for the MATCH. we saw out the wimbledon men's finals and after a bit more time at the tv, shao and i went off to seek rations for the match. i got a loaf of raisin bread and a coffee, and got the rest some drinks. we had a nice walk.. the whole neighbourhood at toh tuck so quiet and peaceful, except for some excitable doggy near siwei's place.

the match was good. i'm happy for the greeks for they were justly rewarded for their discipline and industrious approach to the match. the portuguese went totally awol, they were sorely not playing and didn't settle down at all. i tot the second half would be a different story with scolari's halftime talk, but apparently, nothing changed. ronaldo looked so ordinary, deco was making friends with the ground all the time, figo was just outmuscled. the botak on the greeks side was good, just so vital. the story of team work come good.. it never fails does it?

i enjoyed the camaradarie and the jokes and the comments we all heard during the match. that's the fun in watching in a group. amazing at that time, we could still pip up with all those quotes and all..

now to enjoy my postponed sleep.. no sleep for 24 hours already... and counting..

wizzing away on 9:36 AM
