worked on the christmas weekend. these kids go to the pool for swimming lessons and i have come up with a new term. while it is understandable for parents to be concerned abt their little ones bobbing in the water and trying their hand at swimming, it is quite unexplainable for their continued and almost uninteruppted presence next to their children. allow me to bring in the PSG - aka the parents support group.

they accompany their kids as they swim, be it in the water or out of it. they are there to tell their kids what to do, what stroke to execute, what mistakes they are making. i admit the coach, who happens to be e pool supervisor and my immediate boss, isn't very competent. he's a perpetual chain smoker, and since he goes by the surname lee, he is awarded e term chain lee on my hp. back to the parents. they are on hand to lend a helping hand to their kids. i guess they must be quite determined to make their money's worth. for everychild, there is a tagging parent. it's quite alright to keep a watchful eye on e sidelines and give encouragement. my parents did that. but to literally bump in and try to take over the lesson, albeit of one's own kid, is quite unacceptable. they use the towels provided by chevron's like there's no tmr. the towels are used to keep the kids warm while they wait for the instructor to come to them. so these kids are wrapped in towels, hugged by mummy and daddy, and some are given hot cuppas chocolate or milo to warm up.

i really feel like slapping my forehead when i see these expressions of love and care. nothing wrong about their actions, just simply, in my opinion, too much. gotta cut some slack and let them endure a bit at times.
