it is inevitable that our news is swarmed with reports of the aftermath of the tsunami. the sense of poignance, the feeling of loss is sth everyone feels. i, for one, am feeling whelmed in the influx of reports and the sheer state of the living conditions that the survivors have to live with.

the contribution of money is a wonderful act. we now live in a world where money is able to determine the existence of a person. this reliance on money is ever so important.

The concerted world effort is history in the making. While it ranks along world-changing events like september 11, it is noteworthy that the humanitarian operation is simply the best thing that can happen. With the technology and networks of communication, we can be even more connected and improve the ties that we so need.

What i mean by so need is the NEED for the people of the world to unite. Like how the movie Independence day depicts, it is the cooperation of the united nations of the world. In the song by Michael Jackson, heal the world is over a decade old, yet it holds increasing relevance to our modern world. this is a hope for a need from a small voice in a big big world. it will not change anything;it will not reach the ears of the iraqis fighting for 'freedom', it will not reach ears of selfish characters who will be emerging from the ruins;they will be identified by their acts of stealing, bullying etc But, it is a still a hope that will last.

The forces of nature, an act of God, a reminder for the people of the world.
