[Ladies and Gentlemen, a very good afternoon to all of you.. Welcome down to the WanBao fair 2005 and it's a beautiful Sunday afternoon! What u see on stage is the come dance with me segment at yena trading company's stage. this is a wonderful opportunity to get a freemakeup. makeup is done by make up for ever's lisa and the photography is by thomas of naughty by nature.. in addition to that, we also have our sure win lucky dip. just dip and win. it's tt easy. what's more, u get ur prizes instantly. comeon down to our booth 202 and 208 today and win with us!]

tt's the mc script tt i altered from time to time over the weekend, fitting myself in as mc for the duration of the entire event.. on off.. approaching customers and getting them interested in the Germaine de Capuccini brand, a Spanish brand from the city of Barcelona.

We worked as a team and things got better as the days passed. the first day was downright terrible. the second day was an improvement but the third was the most satisfying. A change in marketing strategies, led by the ever-positive boss meant tt our third day helped to salvage what would have been a miserable outing at the fair.

We figured tt e crowd wasn't the ideal one our products were targetting, so it did make it a little difficult to find relevance with our products.

the bold marketing strategy we had was to have a booth space(s) and invite an image consultant company, naughty by nature, a make up company, in make up for ever and a dance company in catz. so while they had their activities on the side, we could mill the crowd and pick potential clients from there. but the crowd was just not suitable.

i made a lot of new friends during this whole event. in the preparation period, the setup period and the three day period that the fair was on. it was awesome and totallly bamzoomalinging. also made friends with some nice people from sph and pico art, the people who do the set up of the booths. The models were pretty nice, as well, playful and flirty. they were flirting with the guys from the dance group none stop, constantly applying the self tanning lotion they were supposed to promote. i watched from the sidelines and was suitably unimpressed. But if u r brave in enough to strut around in a bikini top in a freezing cold suntec hall 401, i'd say it comes with the job. had to come in a few times to separate them from the over-zealous attention of the guys and get them to do their proper jobs.

what was foremost was the fact tt i got to spend quality time catching up with my cousin. she's so busy nowadays and we hardly get to meet up. well,i've also gotten to know my aunt pretty well over the past few weeks and it's been truly awesome. it pays to keep calm in all conditions, and when people snap at u, i've learnt not to take it at face value and analyse it from their point of view, their mood was triggered by other unpleasant factors.

The experience i get from the business world is truly unforgettable. it's an awesome opportunity and a brilliant breakthrough into a world known for its uncompromising nature, one where change is always the only constant. I'm glad for this experience and i believe no other part time job would have prepared me this well.
