platoon field camp was very useful. i got to know the different platoon drills and was even given the appointment of platoon sergeant.it means that i was given the permission to shout and hurry the platoon. we pulled off the platoon attack quite well, everyone moved well and efficiently. there was the 'garangness' required and our platoon commander was sufficiently impressed. i must say despite the fatigue existent in all, we all pulled it off, because we were willing to learn and correct.

so many events have taken place in the past month. doing exercise spade 1 & 2, going through patrol field camp, section field camp, navigating in full battle order, getting relief when told to carry on in sbo attire, section live-firing, gpmg lve-firing, platoon field camp. what's left is the platoon live-firing on monday, ahm this coming sunday and the 3bar 23 km route march with platoon estab. weapons.

i have seen the human character play itself out in very clear forms. This has been an excellent learning experential opportunity and it has been very interesting and enlightening. what people do when they are tired, who they really are, what their actions speak of them, what their words may mean.

Growing numb to tough treatment and punishment is what i've become over the past few weeks. there is reason and good reason for the way certain things are played out. You get used to the 10-15 minute meals, You get used to the rushing around from point to point, from attire to attire. Occasionally when u need tt breather, head down to the loo with a book or reading material, spend some time in 'solitary' confinement.

I'm glad that my army experience has been interesting so far. the learning opportunities have been aplenty and i must have the right attitude to continue in the weeks ahead.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
