man, i had a solid saturday.

mum had gotten the tickets yesterday as corporate thingie from apb. so off we went, whole family in tow, to china square for the edingberg oktoberfest for an evening of german food and possibly some german spirit.

Beer was free flow, those mugs of beer. the food was interesting initially, but definitely not the tastiest. I certainly had fun. total strangers were cheering each other, clanging mugs, drinkning freely. The german sausages were good, as were the desserts. The food wasn't the focus of the evening. It's got to be the company. it was a totally smashing night and for the first time, i felt slightly tispy, couldn't walk too properly coz of the booze. Tt's a reckless feeling tt accompanies tt drunk feeling.

This guy from new zealand, Rene, a wine chef at pan pac was willing my brother to join him on the table the whole night. these guys, were having a time yesterday. it was foreign initially, coz the music n words were quite unfamiliar. they were the ones who got the ball rolling and as the beer continued to flow, cool and continuous, everyone relaxed and soon, pple were on their feets, on the benches and the tables, dancing and clapping to the tunes of the live band. Rene n i had a conversation which consisted of us shouting into each other's ears coz it was darn too loud. he's 24 n i'm 20, he's working and i'm serving. i see a world of difference there. His group of friends were there to have fun n boy did they do just that.

i felt high, super shiok and ready to party on. sadly, it was time to go and the conversations had to sieze. no doubt my family was at our best yesterday, how often do u see a singapore family, with 3 kids in tow, coming to such functions. there were other families too, but what we did was just to have fun and hang loose. that was shiok, nothing less. and not for the first time, pple tot tt i was my bro's father. so when i introduced my dad, it was like 'wow' for em'.

oh, there were the beer girls around, they made sure tt our beer supply didn't run dry. i had my fair share of food yesterday and everyone ate heartily, although german food isn't exactly the most exciting.

just a solid evening of good fun, drinks and song and dance. beats ballrooms anytime. for the success of an evening, it's got to be the crowd too. they were just great.

wizzing away on 3:53 PM
