i had an inkling when some people would come up to me in the toilet and tell me ' i had a solid saturday' alright, time for updates.

brunei has been a totally mind-blowing and eye-opening experience. never did i think i'd see so many frailities and vunerabilities been exposed. it's just truly amazing how much u see of people when times are that tough and that uncomfortable. i never envisioned spending my nights in super cramped bunks and there were times when the claustraphobic feeling would just overwhelm one. The training brought me to new heights. there are so many ways of feeling contented and in this time and day, where technology does bring us more material comforts than ever, all you want is to lie in your hammock, cook your instant noodles, get out of ur wet boots, slump on the ground with everything on and take a nap, now that's a redefinition of contentment.

getting home was a truly outta-this world feeling. you never want to get home so much. stepping onto bruneian soil, with all due respects, makes u want to step off it. the city enjoys a slow pace of life and the single day of R&R was better off spent flying home. i have in this period of time, seen through more people and more imptly, seen tru myself. it leads me to ask meself, what am i and what do i want to be. such questions, pondering over life, can only be answered in due course. i hope i have the time to think about them, seriously.

it's good to have a thrashing session. it's a matured course of action and it will hopefully put an end to the bickering, gossiping( yes, it does exist) and mud-slinging that has become so commonplace it has lead me to lose trust and faith in a bunch of cadets. i'm hopeful yet again, but i'll think before putting complete faith in this. Young adults, stepping up the challenge, must learn to be and live like gentlemen. no one is to stop u from being one. it all depends on yourself, your wants, your goals, you.
