19/02/2006what an end to the professional term!What a conclusion; 8 months of trying finally pays off. I've finally managed to achieve the ippt gold. The problematic stations that preceded this test was my chin-ups (max 8), jumping (quite inconsistent) and the omni-present problem of running, always being the barrier. I took the test w the juniors from hotel. They helped me to my gold. The chin-ups were trying, 10 was pushing the elbow. the 234cm was achieved in just three jumps, saving me from a potentially defeating n energy sapping multiple jumping spree.the run was held on the inspirational grounds of the parade square. Five rounds and the last burst of energy. it is difficult to forget lt jitson's countdown from 10 seconds, so vital. We hugged in relief. out of the eight, 5 secured their golds, on a day when we least expected it. How timely it was, i realised later, that we had achieved it on the last day of professional term. I had prepared myself to take a silver out of ocs and attain my gold in unit. The most satisfying portion, apart from personal truimph, was that with zherui and i securing golds on the same day, platoon 2 became the only platoon in bravo with a 100% gold. That cannot make pc more happy, that's for sure. not only are we the biggest plt, we r also the first to get the gold. Outstanding and 'well done'! Speaking for zherui as well, it sums up eight months of trying. We have been called up so many times, to be spoken to and questioned as to our ability to strike gold. There were times we came close, and times when we surprised and disappointed. On a day when we were least pepped-up, we clinched it. It wasn't just time spent training. Time was given for recuperation from injuries and the path certainly hasn't been smooth. Joint term: 3 weeks. What's next? March 11th, Saturday. Drop me a msg if i haven't already invited you.
