Commissioned as an officer of the S'pore Armed Forces.

"CADET don't blur! I'll confine you this Sunday, make you the DO (duty officer)"

Such a remark; meant to scold, but also acknowledging the next step up. Uttered by AWSM ( Assistant Wing SM), a character. Contingent 5 thanks him for his wonderful contribution and effort put into making us the team we were. correcting our mistakes we made in abundance, he was blowing hot and cold. Before we proceeded for the parade of our lives, we told him to scold us. He did so, but it was met with laughter and smiles. that's how well we have gotten to know AWing over the past 2 weeks. I will never depart from my belief that the strongest link is that of the NCO's role in performing duties in the organisational context. They must be looked after so that they can perform competently. They are very able, if not more able, so utmost attention and care must be observed.

We put in a performance of sorts. As a participant in all the rehearsals, today wasn't the best. But today wasn't a rehearsal, it was the REAL thing. And nothing can beat that! Getting my parents to replace my shoulder boards, my mum on my left shoulder, my dad on the right; it was simply moving. Tossing that cap high in the sky, leaping for joy.

i must thank khairul and his wife, jason, peggy and rehan for coming down today. My family and Sabrina, they were there to observe the proudest moment of an officer cadet's life, the end of it.

With the rank comes the responsibility, and i know my responsibility is to the men.
