I'm getting prone to delayed blogentries.

It was a personal victory when i completed the 21km AHM. This is an annual event completed by many others and it serves as a milestone for fitness activities in plenty of most army units in the months leading up to august/september. Yes, many others have completed this event, others have even gone on to complete the 42km. However, this is special for me. I have always been a poor runner. In the training schools, i always cringed when it came to long runs. Short runs were still bearable simply because they were shorter, even if they were more intense. I failed to run all 21km.Common sense had to prevail over gungho-ness. I had not been running distances for the months leading up to AHM, and just a week before ahm, an untidy fall had left me with a scrapped knee. You know how it is with injuries at flexi-points. This experience was a heckalluva one. Seeing familiar faces, all the hellos and catching up, all set on completing the 21 km. I will not run such a distance willingly. Of course i can be forced, but it's not gonna be easy.

COMEX was really packed. However, my sis and i bore through frazzled nerves to make it through with our choice of products. The important lesson learnt from this fair is that one must be focussed on your choices and concentrate on getting them. If you are just in for browsing, it is unlikely you will come away with any purchase. The burgeoning crowds would have pushed u to a point where you would felt dissed. Purchase-wise, we'll have to replace our handset due to poor design. Problem is, at fairs like this, you'll not know until you try it at home.

IMF is round the corner. In fact, just days away already. Everyone, it can be said, is affected. It is a national effort, no doubt, not just the monetary investments, but more so of the group effort to sell efficient ( effective?) service to an international audience. There are some preliminary practice sessions to work out the quirks of a potential timebomb. It's very apparent that a lot of cogs aren't working out so the top is getting scared. But this is the right thing. One should not expect training of seperate groups to result in seamless cohesion. Efficient service may not even be possible, and we're still thinking about effectiveness?

That said, the city-state, is really transforming into the 'Garden City'. The STB really digs this. Perfection all round: vibrant colours, perfectly paved roads, wonderful and adequate world-class facilities & amenities, smiling faces(?) etc.
